Slow Cooker Beef Stew

  • Ingredients

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 1 onion (I like white)

  • 1 lb Stew Meat

  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 TBS Tomato Paste

  • 1 Celery Stalk cut up 

  • 1 Cup tomato Sauce 

  • 1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 1/2 cup Beef Stock 

  • 12 baby carrots 

  • 1 1/2 tsp Himalayan Salt 

  • Bay Leaf 

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • Sprig of Thyme 

Directions

Heat olive oil, brown onion and celery for about 3 minutes then add meat (4-5 minutes) on stovetop. 

Sprinkle the flour on top and transfer to slow cooker. 

Add the liquids to slow cooker.  Optional, add mushrooms and/or sweet potatoes/white potatoes 

Season with pepper.  Add bay leaf and cinnamon stick as well as Thyme sprig.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 8.  Enjoy an divide among 6 servings.
